How to drip lessons over time and preview locked lessons

In the course, select the lesson or module, open Drip Settings, enter a delay greater than 0 and save. To check what students see, enter Preview and use the View Content (Unlocked) toggle in the top-right corner.

Before you start

  • The course and its lessons must already exist in Memberships › Courses › Products.
  • Decide the pace: how many days after enrollment each module or lesson becomes available.

Step by step

Set up dripping

  1. Open Memberships › Courses › Products and click the course.
  2. In the course map, select the lesson or module (category) you want to release later.
  3. Open Drip Settings.
  4. Enter the delay: how many days after enrollment the content unlocks. The value must be greater than 0; the system won't save 0 or invalid values.
  5. Save. Repeat for the other modules or lessons (for example, module 2 at 7 days, module 3 at 14).

Preview as a student

  1. Open the course (using the Neo Classic theme) and enter Preview.
  2. In the top-right corner, use the View Content (Unlocked) toggle.
  3. With the toggle off you see what a student sees: lessons still locked appear closed. With the toggle on, everything shows unlocked.
  4. Move between lessons to confirm the order and what's accessible in each state.

Tips

  • When a lesson unlocks, the student gets a notification in the members area and, if enabled, a drip email. Drip emails can be turned on or off in the course's email notification preferences.
  • The preview toggle only changes what the admin sees; it doesn't affect students.
  • Combine dripping with a time-limited offer to build programs with a defined start and end.

Common problems

  • I can't save the drip settings → The value is 0 or invalid. Enter a number of days greater than 0.
  • Students already see every lesson → The drip delay wasn't saved on that lesson or module. Open Drip Settings and confirm the delay.
  • The View Content (Unlocked) toggle is missing → This preview only exists in the Neo Classic theme. Apply that theme under Customize.
  • The student didn't get the unlock email → Drip emails are turned off in the course's notification preferences, or the contact's email is wrong.

Frequently asked questions

When does the delay start counting?

From the date the student is granted access to the offer (enrollment).

Can I drip an entire module?

Yes. Select the category in the course map and set the delay; every lesson in that module stays locked until then.
