How students set their password and sign in to the members area
When a contact is granted an offer (by purchase, workflow, or manually from the contact record), Elooo System emails them a secure link to create their own password. If they forget it, they use Forgot Password on the login page; the reset link expires in 2 hours.

Before you start
- The student must exist as a contact, with a correct email on the record.
- The course offer must be Published.
- The system email for course login must be enabled in the course's notification preferences.
Where to find it
Contacts › (contact record) › (course offers) · members area login page › Forgot Password
Step by step
Grant access to a student manually
- Open Contacts and go into the contact record.
- In the courses and offers section of the record, choose the offer from the list and confirm.
- Elooo System immediately emails the contact a secure link to create their password. There are no system-generated passwords: the student always sets their own.
What the student does the first time
- Opens the access email and clicks the link.
- Sets a password and is taken straight to the course dashboard.
- If they came in through a purchase, they first see the thank-you page with a View Dashboard button; clicking it asks them to set a password before the course opens.
- From then on, they sign in on the members area login page with email and password.
Reset a forgotten password
- On the login page, the student clicks Forgot Password.
- They enter their email and receive a reset link. The link expires in 2 hours.
- Opening the link, they set a new password and are signed in automatically.
- Optional: when changing the password, they can sign out of all other devices, useful if they suspect the account is open somewhere else.
Tips
- The same process applies to access granted by a workflow or a smart list action: the access email goes out automatically when the offer is granted.
- In workflow emails and SMS with course triggers, you can insert the Login URL (Magic Link) value: the student signs in without a password. That link is valid for 24 hours; a link generated manually under Memberships › Client Portal is valid for 15 minutes.
- A magic link only signs the person in; it doesn't grant course access. The contact must already have the offer assigned.
Common problems
- The student never got the email to set a password → Check the email on the contact record, make sure the course login email is enabled in the notification preferences, and review the delivery logs. If your email domain isn't authenticated, the email may have landed in spam.
- The student asks me to change their password → For security reasons, you can't set a student's password. Ask them to use Forgot Password, or resend the access email.
- The reset link says it expired → More than 2 hours have passed. The student repeats Forgot Password to get a new link.
- The student signs in but can't see the course → They have an account but not the offer. Open the contact record and assign the right offer.
Frequently asked questions
Can a student use the same account for several courses?
Yes. Every offer granted to the same email shows up in the same members area.
Can I resend the access email?
Yes. Open the contact record and send the offer access email again; the student gets a fresh link.
