How to collect video testimonials from customers and show them on your website

Under Reputation › Video Testimonials, click Create Collector, set up the pages (welcome, questions, attribution, thank you) and colors, save, then share the link or send the request by email, SMS or WhatsApp. Submitted videos land under Responses and can be shown in your review widget.

Before you start

  • Have your logo and brand colors ready to customize the collector.
  • Think of up to 3 short questions to guide the customer (e.g. "What problem did you have?", "How was the experience?", "Would you recommend us?").
  • To send requests by SMS or WhatsApp, those channels must be active in your account.
Where to find it

Reputation › Video Testimonials › Create Collector

Step by step

Create the collector

  1. In the left menu, open Reputation and click Video Testimonials.
  2. Click Create Collector.
  3. On the welcome page, enter the public title, turn the spokesperson image on (or off) with the name of someone on your team, explain in a few lines how it works and write a welcome message.
  4. On the questionnaire page, add up to 3 questions and put them in order.
  5. On the attribution page, write the headline and message asking the customer to identify themselves (or confirm their details if they opened a personalized link).
  6. On the thank you page, write the headline, message and the spokesperson's email.
  7. Under Logo & Colors, upload the logo, choose whether it sits on a white background and set the background, text, secondary text, accent and button colors. Click Save.
  8. Click Preview to see exactly what the customer will see.

Request the video

  1. To share the link: under Collectors, click Copy Link and send it however you like (email, chat, social, QR code).
  2. To send a request to a contact: click Send Review Request (or the collector's share icon), pick the contact and the channel (email, SMS or WhatsApp).
  3. Under Override Video Link, choose which collector to include; pick the message template and click Send Review Request.
  4. The customer records or uploads the video from a phone or computer, with nothing to install. Each video is capped at 2 minutes 30 seconds.

Manage responses and show them on your site

  1. Open Video Testimonials › Responses to see submitted videos, spot new ones and download the original files.
  2. On each response, use the visibility control to show or hide the video in the widget.
  3. To display them on your site, open Reputation › Widgets, create or edit a widget, choose the Video Testimonials review type and the collector as the source, set the layout and number of videos, and save.
  4. In the widget, choose whether new videos are published automatically or require manual approval.

Tips

  • A spokesperson with a face and a name makes customers more comfortable recording.
  • You can create as many collectors as you like (one per service, per campaign…) and clone existing ones.
  • If you want control over what appears on your site, choose manual approval in the widget and approve videos under Responses.

Common problems

  • The customer says they can't record → Ask them to open the link in an up-to-date browser on their phone and allow camera and microphone access; they can also upload a video they already recorded.
  • The video doesn't show on the site → Check under Responses that it's visible and that the widget uses the Video Testimonials type with the right collector; if you chose manual approval, approve it first.
  • The video was rejected for being too long → The limit is 2 minutes 30 seconds per video. Ask the customer for a shorter take.
  • There's no option to send by WhatsApp → The WhatsApp channel isn't active in your account. Use email or SMS, or activate WhatsApp first.

Frequently asked questions
