How to suggest related products on the product page

In the store builder, open the Product Details page, select the details element and turn on Show related products. Set how many products, the columns and the heading, then save and publish. Suggestions come from products that share collections with the open product.

Before you start

  • You need access to Sites in your account.
  • Products must be organized into collections in Payments › Products › Collections: that's how the system decides what counts as "related".

Sites › Store › (open the store) › Product Details page › details element › Show related products

Step by step

  1. Open the store in the builder and go to the Product Details page.
  2. Click the product details element to open its settings on the right.
  3. Turn on Show related products.
  4. Set the number of products to show (default 6; the maximum is 10).
  5. Set the number of columns for desktop (default 3) and mobile (default 2).
  6. Enter the section heading (default "You may also like").
  7. Click Save, then Publish.

Tips

  • The section shows products that are in the same collections as the open product. If the product is in "Summer" and "Sale", the "Summer" products appear first, then the "Sale" ones, up to the limit you set.
  • To control what shows up, adjust your collections: group together products that make sense to suggest to each other.
  • Product images in the list are displayed as squares (1:1), so use images with the product centered.

Common problems

  • The section doesn't appear on the product page → The product isn't in any collection, or it's alone in it. Add it to a collection with more products.
  • Products that don't make sense are showing → They're in the same collection as the open product. Reorganize your collections in Payments › Products › Collections.
  • I changed the settings and the site didn't change → The page still needs to be saved and published.
  • I want to show more than 10 products → 10 is the maximum.
