How to save a section to reuse on other pages (template, global or universal)

In the builder, select the section and click Save Section. Choose the type: Template (independent copy), Global (syncs within the same funnel or website) or Universal (syncs across your whole account), name it and save. To use it, click Add Section on another page and pick it.

Updated on

Before you start

  • Have the section finished and reviewed: header, footer, testimonial block, booking call-to-action…
  • Decide on the type before saving, because it can't be changed later:
    • Template: saved as a copy. Every page where you insert it is independent.
    • Global: syncs only within the funnel or website where it was created. Changing it on one page changes it on every page of that funnel or website.
    • Universal: syncs across your whole account: funnels, websites, blogs, webinars and store.
Where to find it

Sites › Funnels or Websites › (open the page) › Edit › (select the section) › Save Section

Step by step

Save the section

  1. Open Sites, choose Funnels or Websites and click Edit on the page.
  2. Click the section you want to save so it's selected.
  3. Click Save Section.
  4. In the window that opens, choose the type: Template, Global or Universal.
  5. Enter a name that identifies it (e.g. "Footer – contact and hours") and save. A thumbnail is created automatically so you can recognize it later.

Insert the section on another page

  1. Open the destination page in the builder.
  2. Click Add Section where you want it.
  3. Find the saved section by name or thumbnail and insert it.
  4. If it's a Template, edit freely: it's a copy. If it's Global or Universal, any change you make here will show everywhere the section is used.
  5. Save and publish.

Tips

  • Use Universal for anything that must match everywhere (header, footer, contact details). Use Global for content that belongs to one funnel only. Use Template for starting blocks you'll adapt on each page.
  • To change a section's type, clone it and save the clone under the new type. The original keeps the type it was created with.
  • When you clone a page containing Global or Universal sections, the copies stay linked to the originals. For an independent version on that page, clone the section itself: it gets a new ID and stops syncing.
  • When editing a Global section, the builder shows a warning reminding you the change applies to every page using it.
  • Saved sections store only layout and content. They don't store any contact's personal data.

Common problems

  • I edited a section on one page and it changed on others → The section is Global or Universal. If you only wanted to change that page, clone the section (or insert a Template) and edit the copy.
  • I want to switch a section from Global to Universal → The type can't be changed. Clone the section and save the clone as Universal.
  • I restored an older page version but the section still shows the new change → Global and Universal sections have no version history; they always show the latest saved version. Fix the section manually.
  • I can't find my saved section → Under Add Section, search by name. If it was Global, it only appears on pages of the same funnel or website where it was created.
  • The change didn't show on the other pages → Pages must be published for the sync to show on the live site.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use the same section in a funnel and a website?

Yes, if you save it as Universal or Template. A Global section is limited to the funnel or website where it was created.

What happens if I clone a saved section?

The clone gets a new ID and stops syncing with the original.
