How to enable and moderate product reviews in your store

In the store builder, select the product details or product list element and turn on Show Reviews and Ratings. Customers write reviews at the bottom of the product page; approve them in Payments › Products › Reviews, where you can also reply or move them to trash.

Before you start

  • You need access to Sites (to enable it in the store) and Payments (to moderate).
  • The store must already be created and published.
  • These are store product reviews; they're unrelated to Google reviews in Reputation.

Step by step

Show reviews in the store

  1. Open the store in the builder and go to the Product Details page.
  2. Click the details element and turn on Show Reviews and Ratings.
  3. Turn Show Ratings Count on or off to display how many reviews the product has.
  4. Repeat on the Products List page, in the list element, so stars show there too.
  5. Adjust the star color in the builder. The font size is fixed; font family and color follow the page text.
  6. Save and publish.

How customers leave a review

  1. At the bottom of the product page, the customer clicks Write a Review.
  2. They fill in name and email (required) and, optionally, phone number, headline and description, and give a rating.
  3. On submit, they see a confirmation message. The review only goes public after approval.

Approve, reply and delete

  1. Open Payments and, in the Products menu, click Reviews.
  2. New reviews sit in the Pending section. Select one or several and choose Approve, Unapprove or Move to Trash.
  3. Approved reviews are published in the store right away.
  4. To reply, click the review and write your response in the side panel.
  5. Use the filters by time frame, rating, product name and store name to find what you need.
  6. To delete permanently, go to the Trash section and delete from there.

Tips

  • The review form is automatically protected against bots; nothing to configure. If extra verification is needed, the customer sees a small challenge before submitting.
  • Reply to reviews, good and bad: replies appear in the store and build trust with shoppers who are deciding.

Common problems

  • Stars don't show in the store → Show Reviews and Ratings is off on the element, or the page wasn't published after the change.
  • A customer reviewed and it's not showing → It's in Pending awaiting approval. Approve it in Payments › Products › Reviews.
  • I approved a review by mistake → Select it and click Unapprove; it disappears from the store.
  • I can't delete a review → First move it to trash; permanent deletion is only possible from the Trash section.
