How to audit your site's technical SEO health and fix the issues

Go to Sites › SEO › Site Projects, click New Site Project, enter your site address and, optionally, connect Google Search Console. Then click Launch Advanced SEO › Site Audit to crawl the pages and get a health score with the list of errors, warnings and notices to fix.

Before you start

  • The site must be published and reachable on a domain.
  • To see real search data (clicks, impressions, position), have the domain verified in Google Search Console and be signed in to the right Google account.
  • Audits use your account's monthly credits: each crawled page uses one crawl credit and each page audit uses one audit credit. Avoid crawling more pages than you need.
Where to find it

Sites › SEO › Site Projects › New Site Project

Step by step

Create the site project

  1. In the left menu, open Sites and click SEO in the top bar.
  2. On the Site Projects tab, click New Site Project.
  3. Enter your site's homepage address (e.g. https://www.yourclinic.com).
  4. If you want Google Search Console data, click Connect Google Search Console, authorize the connection with your Google account and pick the domain's property. You can also do this later in the project settings.
  5. Wait: the project row shows Domain Power, Backlinks, Organic Traffic, Site Health and Issues. While data loads, some fields may be blank.

Audit the whole site

  1. Click the project, then Launch Advanced SEO.
  2. Open Site Audit and create a New Audit Project.
  3. Enter the domain, the max pages to crawl, the crawl frequency (manual or scheduled) and any exclusions (folders or addresses to skip).
  4. Start the audit and wait for it to finish.
  5. Read the health score and the list of issues by severity: Errors (critical), Warnings (moderate) and Notices (suggestions).
  6. Fix each issue in the page builder (titles, descriptions, image alt text, broken links, image sizes) and rerun the audit to confirm.

Audit a specific page

  1. In Advanced SEO, open Content › On-Page Audit.
  2. Paste the page address and enter one or more keywords you want it to rank for.
  3. Click Run Audit.
  4. Review the content score, the technical score, the recommendations by category (content, technical, structure) and the comparison with competing pages.
  5. Apply the changes on the page and rerun the audit.

Use the AI recommendations

  1. After an audit, open AI Recommendations in the project.
  2. Review each suggestion (titles, alt text, internal links, descriptions) before applying it: make sure the wording sounds like your business.
  3. Apply the ones that make sense.

Tips

  • With Search Console connected, the Performance tab shows the keywords your site already ranks for, with clicks, impressions and average position. Filter for positions 5 to 15 to find pages close to the top.
  • Higher domain power and more backlinks mean a stronger site; health and issues tell you where to work on the technical side.
  • Schedule the audit to run on its own and compare the score month to month.

Common problems

  • Metrics show "–" or zero → Data is still loading or no audit has run yet. Wait a few minutes and run the audit.
  • I don't see Search Console data → The connection wasn't made or you picked the wrong property. In the project settings, reconnect and choose the property for the exact domain (with or without www).
  • The audit stopped halfway or didn't crawl everything → It hit the max pages you set or the credit limit. Lower the max pages, exclude folders you don't care about and run it again.
  • The score doesn't improve after fixing things → Publish the changed pages before rerunning the audit; the audit reads the live version.
  • I can't create more site projects → There's a limit on sites connected to Search Console and under active audit. Delete an old project to free up a slot.

Frequently asked questions

Does the audit fix the site by itself?

No. It shows what's wrong and, through AI recommendations, suggests fixes. You make the changes in the page builder.

How often should I audit?

After every major change to the site and at least once a month to keep an eye on the score.
