How to create your site's XML sitemap and submit it to Google
Go to Settings › Domains, click Manage on the domain, open the three-dot menu and choose XML Sitemap. Tick the websites, funnels or pages you want indexed, click Proceed, then Generate & Save. Then paste the sitemap address into Google Search Console under Sitemaps.

Before you start
- The domain must be added and connected under Settings › Domains. Without a domain, the Manage option doesn't appear.
- The websites and funnels you want indexed must be linked to that domain and published.
- To submit the sitemap to Google, you need a Google Search Console account with the domain verified.
Where to find it
Settings › Domains › Manage (on the domain) › three-dot menu › XML Sitemap
Step by step
Create or change the sitemap
- Open Settings and click Domains. You can also get there from the gear icon in the top-right corner of Sites.
- On the domain you want, click Manage.
- Next to the asset linked to the domain, open the three-dot menu and choose XML Sitemap.
- A list of every website and funnel linked to that domain appears:
- Tick the checkbox to the left of the name to include the whole website or funnel.
- Click the arrow on the right to expand the pages and tick only some of them.
- Click Proceed.
- If this is the domain's first sitemap, click Add New.
- Optionally, change the sitemap's custom path (the part of the address after the domain).
- Click Generate & Save. The confirmation message shows the sitemap address. Copy it.
Submit the sitemap to Google
- Open Google Search Console and sign in with your Google account.
- If the domain isn't there yet, click Add property, enter the domain and complete the verification requested (usually a record in the domain's DNS).
- In the left menu, click Sitemaps.
- Under Add a new sitemap, paste the address you copied and click Submit.
- The status changes to Success once Google reads it. This can take a while.
Tips
- Only tick pages you want in search results. Thank-you, checkout or internal pages don't need to be in the sitemap.
- Leaving a page out of the sitemap doesn't stop Google from finding it if something links to it. To truly hide it, use the page's SEO settings.
- If you change the sitemap path, resubmit it in Search Console. Google only rereads a sitemap when told it has changed.
- You can have more than one sitemap per domain. The list shows each one's path and last-modified date; use the three-dot menu to edit or delete.
- Sitemaps help most on large or new sites, or sites with pages that aren't well linked. On a small, well-linked site Google usually finds everything on its own, but having a sitemap never hurts.
Common problems
- The Manage button doesn't appear on the domain → The domain hasn't been added or its connection isn't finished. Add it under Settings › Domains and complete verification.
- The list of websites and funnels is empty → No website or funnel is linked to that domain. Link them to the domain first.
- Search Console says it can't read the sitemap → Make sure you pasted the full, exact address and that the ticked pages are published. Wait and try again.
- A page I left out still shows up on Google → The sitemap doesn't block; it only suggests. Use the page's SEO settings to ask search engines not to index it.
- I changed the sitemap and Google hasn't updated → Resubmit it under Sitemaps in Search Console to notify Google of the change.
