How to create a survey with questions that change based on answers
Go to Sites › Surveys, create the survey, organize questions into slides and open Conditional Logic. Under Add New Condition, choose the action (show/hide, message, redirect, disqualify or jump to), set the field, state and value, then save and preview.

Before you start
- You need access to Sites in your account.
- Plan the path first: which questions you'll ask, which answers qualify someone, and what happens to people who don't.
- The conditional logic described here is available in newly created or cloned surveys.
Where to find it
Sites › Surveys › (open the survey) › Conditional Logic
Step by step
Create the survey and questions
- In the left menu, open Sites and click Surveys.
- Create a new survey (from scratch or a template) and give it a name.
- Organize the questions into slides (each slide is one screen). Drag questions and fields onto each one.
- Also create the destination slides you'll need, for example "Qualified – book a visit" and "Not qualified".
- Click Save.
Create a rule
- Click Conditional Logic in the builder toolbar (or in the right panel).
- Click Add New Condition.
- Choose the action:
- Show/Hide Fields: show or hide questions, fields or slides.
- Display Message: show a custom message.
- Redirect to URL: send the person to another page after submitting.
- Disqualify Lead: mark the person as not qualified.
- Jump To: take the person straight to another slide.
- Choose the field (the question that triggers the rule).
- Choose the state (for example Is Equal To, Contains, Greater Than, Between, Is Empty).
- Enter or select the value that must match.
- To combine several conditions, use AND (all must be true) or OR (any one is enough). A single rule can use one or the other, not both.
- Set up the action: the fields to show, the message, the URL or the destination slide.
- Save the rule.
Test and publish
- Click Preview and go through the survey along every possible path (qualified, not qualified…).
- Fix any rules that don't behave as expected.
- Save and share the survey by link, or embed it on your website.
Tips
- Rules are evaluated top to bottom. If several show/hide rules apply to the same field, the last one wins.
- Use Jump To to shorten the survey: people who don't need a section skip it.
- Responses are in Sites › Surveys › Submissions.
Common problems
- I don't see Jump To or the Between operator → The survey was created before this version of conditional logic. Clone the survey and build the rules on the copy.
- The rule doesn't work → Check you picked the right field and the value matches the answer option exactly. Test it in preview.
- A field shows up when it should be hidden → Another show/hide rule further down is overriding the first one. Review the rule order.
- The survey loops between slides → Circular paths are blocked. Review your Jump To rules so none send people back to an earlier slide with no way out.
Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between a form and a survey?
A form shows all fields on one screen. A survey splits questions across several slides and can change the path based on answers.
Does whoever answers the survey become a contact?
Yes. Anyone who submits a survey becomes a contact in Elooo System.
