How to organize WhatsApp templates in folders
In Settings › WhatsApp › Templates, click Create Folder, name it and create subfolders inside if needed. To file a template, open the three dots in the actions column, choose Move to Folder and pick the destination. Moving doesn't change the template's approval.

Before you start
- You need access to Settings › WhatsApp and permission to manage WhatsApp templates.
- Think about the structure before you start: by campaign, by department, by message type (reminders, promotions, support)…
- Anyone with access to WhatsApp templates sees all folders; there are no private per-user folders.
Where to find it
Settings › WhatsApp › Templates › Create Folder
Step by step
Create folders and subfolders
- In the left menu, open Settings and click WhatsApp.
- Open the Templates tab.
- Click Create Folder, enter the name (for example, "Appointment reminders") and click Create.
- To create a subfolder, click the folder's name to open it and repeat Create Folder inside. You can create as many levels as you need.
- Use the breadcrumb trail at the top to go back to the parent folder or the Home folder.
Move a template into a folder
- Find the template in the main list or inside any folder.
- In the actions column, click the template's three dots.
- Choose Move to Folder.
- Select the destination folder or subfolder (you can create a new one right there) and click Move.
Move a folder into another folder
- Find the folder and click its three dots.
- Choose Move Folder.
- Select the destination folder and click Move.
Rename or delete a folder
- Click the folder's three dots (or right-click it).
- Choose Rename or Delete.
- When you delete a folder that holds templates, they move to the parent folder; nothing is lost.
Tips
- The list shows, next to each template, the number of messages delivered and the weekly trend: handy for seeing at a glance which templates are in use.
- Click View Report on a template to see sent, delivered, read and button clicks by period.
- Search finds templates in any folder, so you don't need to remember where you filed them.
Common problems
- I can't find a template that used to be in the list → It was moved into a folder. Use the search at the top of the template list.
- I'm worried moving will lose the approval → Moving only changes organization; the template's approval and delivery status stay the same.
- I deleted a folder by mistake → The templates inside moved to the parent folder. Recreate the folder and move them back.
- Another user can't see my folders → Make sure they have access to WhatsApp templates; folders follow the account's permissions.
