How to add an unsubscribe link to your emails
In Settings › Business Profile, turn on Include Unsubscribe Link to add it to every email, or type {{unsubscribe}} in the editor to place it exactly where you want. Use only one method per email.

Before you start
- An unsubscribe link is legally required in marketing emails (for example, under CAN-SPAM in the US and GDPR in the EU) and helps keep your emails out of spam.
- The default link works with the Elooo System email service. If you send through your own SMTP, use the custom link described below.
Where to find it
Settings › Business Profile › General › Include Unsubscribe Link
Step by step
Option 1: automatic link in every email
- Open Settings and click Business Profile.
- Scroll down to the General section.
- Turn on Include Unsubscribe Link.
- If you like, customize the text shown in the footer.
- Save. The text is added to the footer of every email sent from the account.
Option 2: link placed where you choose
- Open the email in the editor (in Conversations, a campaign or a template under Marketing › Emails).
- Put your cursor where you want the link and type
{{unsubscribe}}. You can also go to Custom Values › Email and pick Unsubscribe Link. - When the email is sent, the tag turns into a clickable link.
- If you use this option in every email, turn off the automatic setting from Option 1 so you don't get two links.
Option 3: custom link with your own page
- Build and publish a page (in Sites) confirming the contact won't get any more emails. Copy the page URL.
- In Marketing › Trigger Links, click Add Link, name it "Unsubscribe", paste the page URL and save.
- In Automation › Workflows, create a workflow from scratch with the Trigger Link Clicked trigger and filter by the "Unsubscribe" link.
- Add the Enable/Disable DND action, choose Enable DND for specific channels and select Email. Save and publish the workflow.
- In the email footer, highlight the link word (for example, "here"), click the link icon and pick "Unsubscribe" from the list.
Tips
- Use one method per email. Two links in the same email confuse recipients.
- In the custom link workflow you can add other actions, such as adding an "Unsubscribed" tag.
- To see who unsubscribed, filter your contacts in Contacts by unsubscribed email status (email DND).
Common problems
- Two unsubscribe links appear → The automatic setting is on and you also typed
{{unsubscribe}}. Turn one of them off. - The email went out without an unsubscribe link → You turned off the automatic setting and didn't add
{{unsubscribe}}to the email. Turn it back on or add the tag to every email; sending without a link can get your sending suspended. - The contact clicked the custom link but still gets emails → The workflow isn't published or the filter doesn't point to the right link. Publish it and check the filter.
- With my own SMTP, the default link doesn't work as expected → Use Option 3 (custom link with a workflow).
Frequently asked questions
Can I change the text of the {{unsubscribe}} link?
The link text itself can't be changed, but you can write whatever you like around it or use the custom link from Option 3.
