How to verify your business with Meta for WhatsApp

In your Meta business portfolio, open Security Center, click Start verification, enter your company's legal details, and confirm your connection by email, phone, or domain. A decision can take from 10 minutes to 14 business days.

Updated on

Before you start

  • Not every business needs verification. Do it if Meta asked you to by email or notification, or if you want to raise your WhatsApp messaging limit.
  • You need full control (admin) of the Meta business portfolio.
  • Have your legal business name, address, phone number, and website ready (the website must be live and use https).
  • You may be asked for an official business document, such as a business license or articles of incorporation.
  • Only use accurate information: misleading details can lead Meta to deny verification or restrict your account.
Where to find it

Meta business portfolio (business.facebook.com) › Settings › Security Center › Start verification

Step by step

  1. Go to business.facebook.com with your admin Facebook account.
  2. Open Settings, then Security Center.
  3. Click Start verification.
  4. Enter your business details: legal name, address, phone number, and website.
  5. If Meta finds your business in public records, pick it from the list. If not, choose My business isn't listed and upload an official business document.
  6. Confirm your connection to the business using one of these methods:
    • Email at an address on your business domain (for example, name@yourbusiness.com).
    • Phone: call, text message, or WhatsApp message to the business number.
    • Domain verification: you'll need access to your website's DNS settings or hosting.
  7. Enter the code or complete the confirmation and click Done.
  8. Wait for the decision. Meta will notify you when it's complete.

Tips

  • Once your business is verified, your WhatsApp limit can go up from 250 to 2,000 customers per 24 hours.
  • If you later change your business name, address, or other details, you'll need to verify again.
  • Your WhatsApp business name should match the verified name so your display name gets approved.

Common problems

  • My business isn't in the list of records → Choose My business isn't listed (or None of these match) and upload an official document.
  • I didn't get the code by phone → Request another code or pick a different method, such as domain email.
  • I don't have an email on my business domain → Use phone confirmation or domain verification.
  • The verification option isn't showing → Make sure you have full control of the portfolio. Ask an admin to give you that access.
  • Verification was denied → Check that your details exactly match your documents (legal name, address) and that your website is live with https, then submit again.
