How to connect a new number to WhatsApp in Elooo System
In Settings › WhatsApp, choose to create a new WhatsApp Business account, log in with your company's Facebook, enter the number, and confirm it with the code you get by text message or voice call.
Updated on
Before you start
- Pick a number that is not active on any WhatsApp (not regular WhatsApp and not the WhatsApp Business app). It can be a landline, an unused cell phone number, or a brand-new number.
- If the number is still active in a WhatsApp app, back up your chats and delete the WhatsApp account for that number in the app before you start. If you want to keep using the app, use the option to connect your existing WhatsApp Business app instead.
- The number must be able to receive a code by text message or voice call.
- You need a Facebook account with admin access to your company's Meta business portfolio (if there isn't one yet, you can create it during setup).
- Allow pop-ups for Elooo System in your browser.
Where to find it
Settings › WhatsApp › Create a new WhatsApp Business account
Step by step
- In the left menu, open Settings and click WhatsApp.
- Click Create a new WhatsApp Business account and read the requirements shown on screen.
- Click Continue with Facebook and log in with the Facebook account linked to your company.
- In the Meta window, click Continue to authorize the connection.
- In the phone number field, choose one of these options:
- Enter a new phone number: type it with the country code (for example, +1).
- A number already linked to your company in Meta: pick it from the list (each number shows whether it's eligible).
- Choose to get the code by text message or voice call, enter the code, and click Next.
- Select the Meta business portfolio and the WhatsApp Business account the number will belong to. If you don't have them yet, create them on this screen.
- Review the details and finish. The number now shows up in Settings › WhatsApp.
- To test it, send a message from another phone to the number and check that it shows up in Conversations.
Tips
- Meta reviews your display name (the business name customers see). Until it's approved, you may not be able to send messages.
- Once the number is connected, fill in your business profile photo and description, and create your first message templates.
- Verifying your business with Meta helps raise the number of customers you can message each day.
Common problems
- I get a warning that the number is already registered to a WhatsApp account → The number is still active in a WhatsApp app. Back up your chats, delete the WhatsApp account for that number in the app settings, and repeat the steps. If you'd rather keep the app, use the option to connect your existing WhatsApp Business app.
- The confirmation code doesn't arrive → Check the country code and the number. For a landline, choose voice call instead of text message. Wait a few minutes and request a new code.
- The number shows as "not eligible" → The number may be connected to another WhatsApp provider. Disconnect it there or use the Migrate from an existing provider option in Settings › WhatsApp.
- The Meta window closes or goes blank → Allow pop-ups for Elooo System, turn off ad blockers, and try again.
- The number is connected but messages don't go out → Check whether Meta has approved your display name. If it was declined, change it to match your real business name.
Frequently asked questions
I already use WhatsApp Business on my phone. Which option should I pick?
Choose to connect your existing WhatsApp Business app. That way you keep using the app and your chats also show up in Elooo System.
My WhatsApp is already connected through another provider. Do I have to start over?
No. Use Migrate from an existing provider: your number, display name, and approved templates are kept. Before migrating, turn off two-step verification for the number.
