How to manage trigger links from Conversations (search, edit, copy the key and see clicks)
In Conversations › Trigger Links, use the search box to find the link, the three dots (⋮) to Edit, Copy URL, Analytics or Delete, and the copy icon next to the link key to paste it into emails, SMS, WhatsApp templates or workflows. The {} button inserts custom values into the destination address.

Before you start
- You need access to Conversations.
- Trigger links log every click on the contact record and can start workflows. To create one from scratch and hook it to an automation, see the article on creating a trigger link.
- Have the destination address ready if you're creating or fixing a link.
Where to find it
Conversations › Trigger Links › link's ⋮
Step by step
Find and create links
- Open Conversations and click the Trigger Links tab at the top of the page.
- To find a link, type part of its name in the Search field on the right: the list filters as you type.
- To create a new one, click + Add Link, enter a clear Name, paste the address into Link URL and click Save.
- Pagination sits in the bottom-right corner and also lets you choose how many rows to show per page.
Put contact data in the address
- While creating or editing the link, click the {} button next to the address field.
- Pick the value you want (contact's first name, appointment ID, one of your custom values…).
- The merge code is inserted into the address in the right place; no need to type it by hand. On send, each contact gets the address with their own data.
Edit, copy or delete
- Click the three dots (⋮) on the link's row.
- Choose Edit to change the name or address, Copy URL to copy the tracked address, Analytics to see clicks, or Delete to remove it.
Copy the link key into a message
- On the link's row, click the copy icon next to Link Key.
- Paste the key into the email, SMS, WhatsApp template (in a button or in the text) or workflow action. Every click is logged on the contact.
See a link's analytics
- From the link's three dots (⋮), choose Analytics.
- Pick a date range and review unique clicks, the contacts who clicked and the top sources.
Tips
- The page address keeps your search term, page and row count: copy it from the browser and send it to a teammate so they open exactly the same list.
- Keep addresses short (under 2 KB) so they work in every email client.
- You can resize columns by dragging the headers.
Common problems
- I can't find the link in the list → Use the Search field with part of the name and check which page you're on (pagination is at the bottom right).
- My teammate opened the address I sent and got an authorization error → They don't have access to this account. Shared addresses respect each user's permissions.
- The custom value shows up blank in the link → The field is empty on the contact record. Fill it in or pick another value with the {} button.
- I edited the link, are the old clicks gone? → No: editing the name or address doesn't erase the history; the link's identifier stays the same.
Frequently asked questions
Do trigger links work in WhatsApp?
Yes. Paste the link key into a button or the text of a WhatsApp template; taps are logged just like in emails and SMS.
Is there a limit on custom values per link?
