How to choose which payment methods you accept (card, SEPA debit, Apple Pay, Google Pay)

Go to Payments › Integrations, click Manage on the Stripe card, then Manage Payment Methods. Turn each method (card, SEPA, iDEAL, Apple Pay, Google Pay…) on or off per area: invoices, payment links, order forms, store, calendars and subscriptions.

Before you start

  • This only applies when Stripe is connected as your payment provider.
  • Your user needs permission to manage Payments.
  • Some methods depend on your Stripe account's country, its verification status and the buyer's country. Methods like Klarna or Afterpay need Stripe's approval; Apple Pay needs a verified domain in Stripe.
Where to find it

Payments › Integrations › Stripe › Manage › Manage Payment Methods

Step by step

Turn methods on or off

  1. In the left menu, open Payments and click the Integrations tab.
  2. On the connected Stripe card, click Manage.
  3. Click Manage Payment Methods.
  4. Pick the area you want to configure: invoices, invoices with auto-payments, payment links, 1-step or 2-step order forms, forms, store, calendars, courses or communities.
  5. Toggle each method on or off: cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, SEPA direct debit, ACH, iDEAL, Bancontact, Link, Amazon Pay, Revolut Pay, buy-now-pay-later options (Klarna, Affirm, Afterpay) and any others available.
  6. If you sell subscriptions, also open the Subscriptions list and set the methods accepted for recurring charges.
  7. Check whether you're in Test mode or Live mode: the settings are separate and each mode must be configured.
  8. Save.

Test it

  1. Open a payment link, an invoice or an order form as if you were the customer.
  2. Confirm the methods you enabled show up. Apple Pay only appears on Apple devices and Google Pay on devices with Google Pay set up.

Tips

  • Customers only see the methods enabled for that area, so configure each area for the kind of sale (for example, SEPA on invoices, cards and wallets in the store).
  • If you already had methods configured in the Stripe dashboard, those settings are kept until you change them here.
  • The Subscriptions list only appears after you create at least one subscription product in live mode.

Common problems

  • I enabled a method but it doesn't show at checkout → Check that you enabled it in the right mode (test or live), in the right area (invoice, link, store…), and that your Stripe account is verified and the method is available in your country.
  • Apple Pay doesn't appear → Your Stripe account must be fully activated, the domain verified and Apple Pay enabled; it also only shows on iPhone, iPad or Mac.
  • I don't see the Subscriptions list → It only becomes available once at least one subscription product exists in live mode.
  • The method shows on invoices but not on subscriptions → For recurring charges, the method also has to be enabled in the Subscriptions list.
  • BLIK is active in Stripe but doesn't appear → That method isn't supported in this integration.

Frequently asked questions

Can I accept bank transfer only on an invoice?

Yes: on the invoice itself you can limit payment options to bank transfer. See the article on bank-transfer-only invoices.

Do these settings apply to PayPal?

No. This configuration is for Stripe only. PayPal shows as its own button when connected.
