How to connect PayPal to accept payments

Go to Payments › Integrations, open the PayPal card, paste the Client ID and Secret Key from your PayPal app and save. PayPal and PayLater buttons then show up on invoices, payment links, forms, surveys, order forms and your store.

Before you start

  • You need a PayPal account for your business and access to the PayPal developer portal (developer.paypal.com).
  • Your user needs permission to manage Payments in Elooo System.
  • Have the Client ID and Secret Key of a PayPal app ready (the first block below shows how to get them).
Where to find it

Payments › Integrations › PayPal

Step by step

Get your keys from PayPal

  1. Sign in to developer.paypal.com with your business PayPal account.
  2. Open My Apps & Credentials.
  3. Create a new app and give it a name (e.g. "Elooo System").
  4. Copy the Client ID and Secret Key PayPal shows for that app.

Connect PayPal in Elooo System

  1. In the left menu, open Payments and click the Integrations tab.
  2. On the PayPal card, click to connect.
  3. Paste the Client ID and Secret Key into the fields.
  4. Save. The PayPal card now shows as connected.

Check that the buttons appear

  1. On invoices, one-time payment links and your store, PayPal shows up on the checkout page automatically.
  2. In Forms and Surveys, the form needs the Collect Payment element.
  3. In Funnels and Websites, use the 1-step or 2-step Order Form element. If the order form was added to the page before November 1, 2024, delete it and add it again.
  4. Preview the page (or open the live link) to see the PayPal and PayLater buttons: they don't show inside the builder.

Tips

  • If Stripe is connected too, the customer picks card or PayPal on the checkout page.
  • Keep your keys somewhere safe: if you regenerate them in PayPal, you'll need to paste them into Elooo System again.

Common problems

  • I can't see the PayPal button in the form or funnel builder → That's expected. The buttons only appear in the preview or on the published page.
  • The order form doesn't show PayPal → The element is outdated. Remove the order form from the page and add it again; on forms and surveys, make sure you're using the updated Collect Payment element.
  • Some customers don't see PayLater → PayLater depends on PayPal's terms and each buyer's eligibility; it isn't configured in Elooo System.
  • PayPal rejects the keys → Make sure you copied the Client ID and Secret Key from the right app, with no extra spaces.
