What to do when your Meta business account gets locked
If Meta locked the business account behind your WhatsApp, go to Business Manager, open Account Quality, select the flagged account, click View Details and Request Review, and attach your business documents. Submit one appeal only and wait for the reply, which usually arrives within a few business days.

Before you start
- This article is for when your Meta business account (the portfolio that holds your WhatsApp Business account) was locked for a policy violation, a failed verification, or suspicious activity. If only the WhatsApp number was restricted, see "What to do when your WhatsApp Business account is restricted".
- You must be an admin of the business account on Meta and sign in with that Facebook login.
- Have your business documents ready (registration certificate, tax ID, a utility bill showing the address), proof that the domain or phone number is yours, and a short explanation of what your business does and how it uses WhatsApp.
- Write down the business name, the Business Manager ID, the WhatsApp number, the WhatsApp Business account ID (if you know it), and the website: you'll need them in the appeal text.
Where to find it
Meta › Business Manager › Account Quality › flagged account › View Details › Request Review
Step by step
Submit the appeal
- Sign in at business.facebook.com with the admin Facebook login and open Account Quality.
- Click the account or asset Meta flagged as locked.
- Click View Details and read the reason Meta gives.
- If the option is there, click Request Review.
- Fill in the request. Explain clearly what your business does, how it uses WhatsApp, and why you believe the lock was a mistake or a misunderstanding, and say you're ready to provide any document.
- Include your identifiers: business name, Business Manager ID, WhatsApp number, WhatsApp Business account ID, and website.
- Upload any documents Meta asks for and submit the request.
Wait for the reply
- Most appeals are reviewed within a few business days.
- Don't file several requests for the same case: repeated requests slow the review down.
- Once the account is restored, confirm in Settings › WhatsApp that the number shows connected status and send a test message.
Tips
- Complete business verification on Meta: verified accounts get locked less often.
- Only message people who agreed to hear from you, and always use approved templates to start conversations.
- Keep an eye on your number's quality rating in WhatsApp Manager and act before it drops to "Low".
Common problems
- There's no Request Review button → Meta hasn't opened an appeal for this case, or you don't have admin permission. Check your role on the business account and look at the lock details again.
- I don't know why the account was locked → It's in Account Quality, in the details of the flagged asset. Read it before writing the appeal so you address the right problem.
- I sent the appeal over a week ago and nothing happened → Wait a few more days without creating new requests. Make sure the admin's email receives Meta notifications (check spam too).
- The appeal was rejected → Fix the cause (verification, message content, documents) before appealing again; a second request with the same information usually gets the same answer.
Frequently asked questions
Do I lose templates, the number, or conversations during the lock?
No. The lock blocks access to the business account but doesn't delete data. Once the account is restored, your number, templates, and WhatsApp setup are as they were.
Can I use WhatsApp in Elooo System while I wait?
No. While the business account is locked, the number can't send or receive messages.
