How to verify your WhatsApp Business phone number

In Settings › WhatsApp, click Verify Phone Number, choose to get the code by SMS or voice call, enter the code you received, and confirm. Until the number is verified, it cannot send or receive messages in Elooo System.

Before you start

  • The number must already be added in Settings › WhatsApp (linked to one of your company's WhatsApp Business accounts).
  • You must be able to receive an SMS or a voice call on that number. Keep the phone, or the landline, within reach.
  • The number cannot be active in a WhatsApp app (personal or WhatsApp Business) at the same time. A number only works in one WhatsApp at a time.
  • Verification always happens by phone: there is no email verification.

Step by step

Verify the number

  1. In the side menu, open Settings and click WhatsApp.
  2. Find the number that is not yet verified and click Verify Phone Number.
  3. Choose how you want to receive the one-time code: by SMS or by voice call. For a landline, choose the call.
  4. Wait for the code. It usually arrives right away, but it can take a few minutes depending on the network.
  5. Enter the code in the field shown and confirm.
  6. The number's status changes to verified. From here on you can send and receive messages.
  7. To double-check, send a message from another phone to that number and see whether it shows up in Conversations.

If the code doesn't arrive

  1. Make sure the number is typed correctly, with the country code (for example, +1).
  2. Check that the phone has signal: a weak network delays the SMS or the call.
  3. Click Get another code and, if you picked SMS, try the voice call this time.
  4. Restart the phone and request the code again.

Tips

  • Verify right after connecting the number: it is the last step before the connection is complete.
  • If you want to keep using the WhatsApp Business app on your phone alongside Elooo System, use the option to connect the WhatsApp Business you already use instead of verifying a new number.
  • Keep a stable internet connection on your computer during the process.

Common problems

  • The code never arrives → The number is most likely active in a WhatsApp app, which blocks code delivery. See the article on not receiving the verification code.
  • Verification fails after entering the code → Check the number, check your internet connection, and request a new code. Each code works only once.
  • I want to verify by email → Not possible. WhatsApp requires SMS or a voice call.
  • The number is verified but messages won't go out → Check whether Meta has approved your display name and whether the number's status in Settings › WhatsApp is connected.

Frequently asked questions

Why do I need to verify the number?

Verification proves to Meta that the number is yours and links it to the right WhatsApp Business account. Without it, the number cannot send or receive messages.

Can I use the same number in personal WhatsApp and in Elooo System?

Not with standard verification: the number works in one place at a time. To switch, you will have to verify it again on the other side.
