How to create the Meta business account you need to connect WhatsApp

To use WhatsApp in Elooo System you need a Meta business account (business portfolio). Create it at business.facebook.com › Create account, confirm your email, fill in your business info and, if asked, verify the business in the Security Center. Then connect the number in Settings › WhatsApp.

Before you start

  • Yes, it's required: WhatsApp for business is managed and verified by Meta, so Elooo System can only connect your number if a Meta business account exists (also called a business portfolio or Business Manager).
  • You do not need a Facebook Page to send and receive messages. You only need the business account.
  • Have ready: your business name (matching your brand or legal name), your name, a business email, the address, the website and the phone number.
  • For business verification, Meta may ask for an official document (registration certificate, business license or a utility bill).

Step by step

Create the business account

  1. Go to business.facebook.com and sign in with your personal Facebook account.
  2. Click Create account.
  3. Enter the business name, your name and the business email, then click Submit.
  4. Open your inbox and click the confirmation link Meta sent you.

Fill in your business information

  1. In Business settings, open Business info (bottom-left corner).
  2. Enter the legal address, website and phone number of the business.
  3. Save your changes.

Verify the business (when asked)

  1. In Business settings, open the Security Center.
  2. Click Start verification and upload the documents requested.
  3. Wait for Meta's decision: it can take anywhere from a few hours to about two weeks, depending on your account and region.

Connect WhatsApp in Elooo System

  1. In the side menu, open Settings and click WhatsApp.
  2. Start the connection and, in the Meta window, sign in and authorize the connection.
  3. Choose the business account you created.
  4. Select or create the WhatsApp Business Account inside it.
  5. Enter the number and confirm it with the code you receive by SMS or call. Once done, the number is live in Elooo System.

Tips

  • Use your real business name in the Meta account: the WhatsApp display name must match it to get approved.
  • Business verification isn't always required, but it raises the number of customers you can message per day.
  • Keep admin access to the business account with a trusted person in your company, not with an outside vendor.

Common problems

  • I'm not getting Meta's confirmation email → Check your spam folder and make sure you typed the email correctly. You can request a new one in the account settings.
  • Meta asks for documents and verification stays pending → That's normal; review can take up to about two weeks. Make sure the name and address match the document exactly.
  • In Elooo System the Meta window doesn't show my business → You signed in with a Facebook account that isn't an admin of the business account. Ask for access or sign in with the right account.
  • I already have a business account but can't connect the number → The issue is with the number, not the account: make sure it isn't active in another WhatsApp app or with another provider.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use my personal Facebook account?

Your personal account is only for signing in. The business account is created separately, in the company's name, and that's what Meta uses to manage WhatsApp.
